In the heart of the regional natural Park of the Alpilles, a village classified as One of the Most Beautifil Villages in France, les Baux de Provence is a site full of history.
Perched on a rocky spur and dominated by a vast fortress in ruins, it possesses an incredibly rich architectural heritage with 22 historical monuments.
The Castle of les Baux Audioguided tour
Discover the dongeon, the fortified towers, the siege machines and the marvellous landscape of Provence as far as the sea, more than 1000 years of tumultuous history! The audioguided tour tells you the story of the Lords of les Baux and leads you to the discovery of the Castle remains. For children aged 7 to 12, the puzzle hunt has been created to help them discover the Castle of Les Baux de Provence in search of hidden clues and to discover the history of the monument.
Carrières de Lumières
The new digital and immersive exhibition “Cézanne, The Master of Provence ” takes visitors on a journey into the heart of the Cézanne’s (1839-1906) major works following the theme of nature, Provence, and the Mont Sainte-Victoire.
It is followed by the short exhibition “Kandinsky, Odyssey of the abstract”. The artist Vassily Kandisnsky (1866-1944) worked with the symbolism of colours and forms like Cézanne and he also painted the Sainte Victoire mountain!
The show takes place in the impressive limestone Carrières of Les Baux-de-Provence, 2km from the hotel. The viewer moves through gigantic galleries and floors, walls and ceilings serve as natural screens for projections.
Brayer Museum
The Museum occupies one of the most beautifuil residences in the center of the village and hosts an important retrospective of Brayer’s work (1907-1990) very attached to the mediterranean countries.
